Pre-2013 Introduced Daylilies

Here are some of our classic introductions from the past ten years.  Any of these flowers would be a great addition to a hybridizing program or your home garden.

We are presently not taking orders, but plan to resume shipments in summer 2016.  Check back soon!

Bug Candy

When this tetraploid blooms as a poly-tepaled its pinched petals gives it a very unusual form.  It is a Huckleberry Candy cross and is both pod and pollen fertile.  It blooms in mid-season and has a white flower with a purple eye and gold throat, with a white mid-rib marking.

This diploid daylily is butter yellow with lipstick pink eye.  It has a 4 1/5 to 5 inch flower, and doubles some of the time.  It blooms in early to mid season.  It is a seedling from a cross of Sue Rothbauer and Hillview Sweetheart.
Delta Forever

Delta Forever is named for our beloved Delta Dawg who loved to hunt moles in our garden, and who is no longer with us.  It is a tetraploid. It has a dark cream flower with purple eye and a purple and gold edge.  It is cross between Sherry Lane Carr and Panda Bear.  The blossoms are  4 1/2 to 5 inches.  It is both pod and pollen fertile, and blooms mid-season.  We like this color combination.

This tetraploid flower has a unique crepe paper pink form and 5 inch flowers.  It is both pod and pollen fertile, and is a cross of Scrambled and Ed Brown.  It blooms early in the season ( here in Alabama) and stands 32 to 35 inches tall.  It has been a consistent bloomer for us.

This diploid is a large (6 1/2 inch) cream flower with rounded petals, ruffles, and gold throat.  It blooms early in the season and stands 30 to 32 inches tall.  We were surprised to get this color since we were expecting a pink.  It has great plant characteristics, meaning it blooms consistently and increases every year.  (Don't worry...the hybridizer's wife and son will be helping him name his plants from now on.)

This Panda Bear times Crumpled cross is bright yellow with a red eye, and a narrow red ruffle. This tetraploid is a late blooming flower, 5 1/2 to 6 inches large.

This Startle/Wish Fulfillment cross is a tetraploid and has 5 1/2 to 6 inch flowers that bloom in mid-season.  It is rose red with a toothed, yellow edge and a green throat, and is both pod and pollen fertile.

Cool Venture is a tetraploid with a 6 inch flower.  It is dark dark purple with a golden eye.  This mid-season bloomer is both pod and pollen fertile.

This tetraploid is a cross between Jamaican Music and Spacecoast Cotton candy, and is a sibling to Jerry's Eye Candy.  This 5-inch flower is coral with a dark pink eye above a gold throat, and blooms in early to mid-season.  It is fertile both ways.

Coral Fringe is a tetraploid with a 5.5" mid-season bloom. It is fragrant and has a coral ruffled self above gold throat.  It is a hybrid of Spacecoast Peach Fringe and Spacecoast Starburst, and is both pollen and pod fertile.

A Spacecoast Cranberry Breeze and Spacecoast Pink Lady cross, this tetraploid has nice form and lovely ruffle.  It blooms in miid-season here in the South.  It has a 5 1/2 inch, cranberry flower with a gold throat.  It is fertile both ways.

This beautiful tetraploid daylily has  5 1/2 to 6 inch flowers that blooms in early to mid season.    It is ivory cream velvet white with a gold ruffled edge above a gold to green throat.  It is a cross between Darla Anita and Spacecoast Whiteout, and is both pod and pollen fertile

This mid-season bloomer is a cross between Dakar and Huckleberry Candy.  It has a cream flower with a deep rose eye and gold throat, with a red, wire rim edge.  It is a tetraploid with 5 1/2 inch blossoms, and is a mid-season bloomer.  It is fertile both ways.

Heliosphere is a tetraploid daylily with 6 1/2 inch blooms.  It begins blooming in early to mid season, and is from our pool of reblooming hybrids, and blooms as a polytepal 75% of the time.  It is a brilliant orange with red eye above an olive throat, and is a hybrid of Bill Norris and Panda Bear.  It is both pod and pollen fertile.
Jan's Cove

Jan's Cove is one of our earliest crosses.  It is a diploid with 4 1/2 inch flowers, and is a cross between Janice Brown and Cranberry Cove.  It has a lovely cream flower with a red eye, with a cream mid-rib color.  It blooms early to mid here in Alabama.
Jerry's Cherry Surprise

This tetraploid flower is light pink with a raspberry eye.  Its red ruffle begins at the middle of the petal, goes halfway up, stops and goes to a gold ruffle around the end of the petal, and halfway down turns to red again.  The blossom is 5 1/2 inches, and the plant stands 30 inches tall.  It blooms mid-season.

This Panda Bear/Spacecoast Fancy Dancer cross is a tetraploid with a 5 inch flower that begins blooming in early to mid-season, and then reblooms until frost.  It is a very light yellow to cream color, with raspberry pink eye and edge.  It is fertile both ways.

These five-inch flowers are creamy pink with darker pink eye and a slight pink rim.  This tetrapoid is both pod and pollen fertile, and is a seedling out of Cherries and Cream.  It blooms early in the season and is 38 inches tall.

Jerry's Eye Candy, a cross between Spacecoast Cotton Candy and Jamaican Music blooms initially in mid-season, and reblooms until frost.  It is light pink with a raspberry eye and ruffled raspberry edge above a yellow throat.  It is a tetraploid.

This seedling from Pirate's Patch is a tetraploid that is both pod and pollen fertile.  It is key lime yellow with a purple eye and purple edge.  Thef lower is 5 1/2 to 6 inches and blooms early in the season.  It is a cross of regal Braid and Pirate's Patch.  It stands 28 to 30 inches tall.

This tetraploid is a cross between Spacecoast Starburst and Spacecoast Pink Lady.  This 6 inch blossom is a creamy gold flower with gold ruffled edge, including gold ruffles on the sepals, going to a gold throat.  It is a mid-season bloomer.

This tetraploid, stands 40 to 45 inches tall and has a 6 1/2 to 7 inch flower.  It's a cross between Killer and Egyptian Queen and is both pod and pollen fertile.  This open form flower blooms mid-season.  It's a striking flower in any garden.

This beautiful seedling of Candle in the Wind is a tetraploid, mid-season rebloomer with a 6 1/2 to 7 inch flower. It is a pink gold blend with gold ruffled edge above a gold to green throat.  Its scapes are 20 inches tall.

May Sunrise is a tetraploid that blooms early in the season.  It has 6" flowers that are pink with yellow eye and ruffled edge above bright green throat  It is a hybrid of Spacecoast Starburst and Startle, and is fertile both ways.

Miss Kayden Elaine is a cross between Darla Anita and Gardenia Mist (another of our hybrids).  This tetraploid is named after one of the hybridizer's identical twin granddaughters.  It has large 6 inch flowers that are light cream with pink undertones and nice gold ruffled edge.  It is both pod and pollen fertile and start blooming early and continues to bloom over the entire bloom season.  It is very fertile. 
Miss Kinsey Anne

Miss Kinsey Anne is named after the other identical twin granddaughter.  It is a tetraploid with 5 to 5 1/2 inch flowers.  It is very round, ruffled, bright yellow with a gold ruffled edge, and is a cross between Isle of Capri and Darla Anita.  It is both pod and pollen fertile and blooms over the entire bloom season after starting its bloom early.  It is very fertile.
Miss Maddie

Miss Maddie was named after an inspiring lady who went through physical therapy with the hybridizer's wife following a stroke.  It is a cross between Dakar and Ida's Magic.  It is a tetraploid that is dark purple with a gold ruffled edge.  It is fertile both ways, blooms mid-season, and stands 26 inches tall. 
Pat's Paradise

Pat's Paradise is another tetraploid, a Patricia Corbett cross.  Its double color edge is purple and gold. It is a lavender flower with darker purple eye and gold throat.  It blooms early to mid-season and is fertile both ways.  Several of its siblings are being evaluated for introduction.

One of the few diploids in the collection, Rosemond Worley is a 5 1/2 to 6 inch flower, pale pink, with cream mid rib stripe and beautiful rose veining.  It booms in mid-season.  It is a cross of Tani and Sue Rothbauer and is fertile both ways, and is named for a beloved teacher.
